What piece of clothing in your closet tells a story?
I kept the top I wore the night I met my husband at a rave in San Francisco in 1999: A green tank top by the brand Velvet.  I don’t wear it anymore, but it’s hanging in my closet because it still sparks joy.

Favorite Kris Nations piece:
The Happy Camper Necklace. I am at my peak happiness when I am traveling with my family in our Westy (Our VW camper) and exploring the desert, which reminds me of my childhood home in El Paso, Texas.

What piece of clothing in your closet tells a story?
My silk dress. I bought it about a year after having my second baby. It felt good to splurge on something that made me feel pretty.

Favorite Kris Nations piece:
Third Eye Hoop Earrings. I love wearing hoop earrings and these are a fun spin on a simple hoop. Plus, the “third eye” is said to ward off evil spirits, so why not wear daily!

My tea length pencil skirt has a traditional feminine silhouette, but the fabric, colors and pattern make it a bit tougher and slightly off balance. That’s my style: Tough femininity.

My sneaker collection. Adidas, Nike, Puma. My kids say, “Mom’s shoe game is strong.”

What piece of clothing in your closet has meaning?
My blue, linen sundress is my absolute favorite because when I’m wearing it the air is warm, the sun is beating down on my shoulders, I probably have a cocktail in hand. I am happy and relaxed and life feels so sweet.

My big Silver Orchid Earrings are my favorite!  I won them at a raffle and I wore them proudly receiving many compliments along the way.  Little did I know that years later I would be lucky enough to earn a living sending awesome Kris Nations jewelry to women everywhere!

What piece of clothing in your closet has meaning?
My Chelsea boots. My husband had them imported from england’s oldest working shoe factory where they are still made by hand. I wear them almost every day.

Favorite Kris Nations piece:
I love the Large Heart Hoops. They are big enough that you can still see them when I am wearing my helmet at the skate park. Go big or go home!

I still wear the denim jacket that I bought with my own money as a teenager. It collects the pins of bands I’ve seen and loved over the years.

What piece of clothing has meaning?

I love plaid. Plaid shoes, plaid pants, plaid jackets, plaid flannels, plaid scarves...you get the idea. Growing up, I was decked out in plaid.  I think that’s why it gives me a certain comfort. Plaid is rad and will always be a staple in my closet.

My favorite KN piece is the Roll with the Punches hoops, because, well, HOOPS(!), and a reminder to  stay cool when the going gets tough.

My Boston Red Sox hat - I borrowed it from a good friend years ago (sorry, friend!), but I wear it almost every weekend. My dad was a huge Sox fan, so it makes me feel like I’m representing for him!

What is your favorite item in the KNJ collection?
My “RESIST” necklace. It’s more important to me now than ever to stand up for justice and kindness toward all, and I wear my Nasty necklace with so much pride.

I have an antique Japanese padded jacket that belonged to my great aunt. She founded the Contra Costa Co. Planned Parenthood Chapter and was our family’s feminist icon.


Favorite Kris Nations piece: I come from a long line of badass women. So naturally my favorite piece is the Badass Ring.

A robe that I sewed out of a vintage chenille bedspread makes me smile when I look at it hanging in my closet.

I love the “Good Vibes” pendant necklace. I like the positivity it radiates and the physical reminder to be kind, smile and appreciate the goodness around you.

My mom’s London Fog raincoat. I don’t wear it often because it comes down to my ankles — but I can't get rid of it.

What piece of clothing in your closet has meaning?
My leather jacket that I got five years ago. It was the last one in the store and luckily it was in my size. I tried it on, loved it, but I thought it was too expensive. A month later it was still there and on sale. I got it and it has been my favorite jacket ever since.

Favorite Kris Nations piece: Starburst Necklace, I like the elegant simple shape.

What piece of clothing in your closet has meaning?
I have always loved a jacket that fits well and can pull any outfit together - In the summer I will always throw a worn j.crew faded denim jacket almost over anything, and as soon as it is 50 degrees in NY, I switch to my favorite all saints leather moto.

Favorite Kris Nations piece:
Hoops. Any hoops!  But, my every day uniform is  a classic simple hoop in gold and a large link chain choker - simple and classic but still trendy.
